In July 2024, Morguard hosted a webinar with RTS (Recycle Smart) on proper recycling guidelines and why tenant waste matters. This was offered to all Ottawa sites, and along with it, our teams in Ottawa launched property Green Teams to increase tenant involvement in sustainability issues and initiatives.
At 131 Queen St., in addition to the Recycle Smart webinar, the team also worked with PSPC (Public Services and Procurement Canada) (tenant) to replace waste signage at the site with Morguard signs that are English and French and include pictures for more clarity on sorting.

59 Camelot has no onsite combustion (no Natural Gas) and is entirely electric! Furthermore, in 2023 and 2024, the operations team worked with our project management team to replace two rooftop units (RTUs) per year, four in total, with more energy efficient models. This has resulted in a significant reduction in electricity consumption, seen on our quarterly building performance reports. This is 59 Camelot’s first ever Energy Star certification.
