We are pleased to share the accomplishments of our Place Rosemère, Intercity, and Northgate property managers and their respective teams who were recognized at the annual HOOPP LEAP Conference and awards ceremony.
Our teams had the opportunity to present their sustainability initiatives under the LEAP Forward initiative and to secure funding for projects that align with HOOPP’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction efforts. Out of numerous submissions, two projects from Morguard’s Retail team, Place Rosemère and Northgate, were selected for presentations.
Place Rosemère emerged as the winner of the LEAP Forward pitch competition, securing a remarkable $4.4 million investment. Place Rosemère’s innovative project will reduce GHG emissions by an impressive 79%, surpassing HOOPP’s goal of 50%.
This is the second time in the 12 years of these prestigious awards that Morguard has secured the LEAP Forward award. Our previous win in 2020 was the result of an innovative partnership pitch between Intercity and New Sudbury Centre.
We would like to acknowledge the remarkable work of our Northgate team. Their proposal was exceptional and aligned with the high standards set by HOOPP.
Lastly, our Intercity Shopping Centre team was also honoured with the Sustainability Achiever Award for their remarkable building performance and conservation efforts.
