Morguard is excited to announce that our St. Laurent Shopping Centre has earned BOMA BEST Platinum certification for its outstanding commitment to environmental excellence and sustainability in the retail space.
A prestigious accomplishment, BOMA grants the BOMA BEST Platinum certification to the management teams of buildings who score anywhere from 90% to 100% on their rigorous questionnaire. This is accompanied by an in-house visit from a BOMA representative who thoroughly verifies that the information provided is correct.
The shopping centre, located in Eastern Ottawa, has made noticeable strides in the past year to elevate their sustainability levels. This includes:
- Introducing automated energy-saving mechanisms;
- Strictly monitoring the electricity consumption of their air handling units; and
- Reducing waste consumption through the One Planet program.
St. Laurent Shopping Centre’s commitment to environmental excellence is further demonstrated by ongoing improvements. The retail centre will finalize the upgrade on their LED systems and continue to upgrade their technical systems in the coming year. We look forward to seeing the impact this will have.
